| The gauge gravity duality gives explicit examples where the geometry of general relativity emerges from more fundamental gauge theory degrees of freedom. I will describe the simplest example of gauge theories in 0+0 dimensions, i.e. matrix integrals. In particular I will focus on the polarised IKKT matrix model and describe its dual geometries, and how the Einstein's equations for those geometries can be recovered from the saddle point equations for the integral. |
