At present time, dark matter and dark energy account for the largest fraction of Universe's components. Even if we still lack a consistent theoretical framework capable to describe their properties, a plethora of effective models have been proposed and it has to be tested against upcoming observations of the large-scale structure of the universe. The purpose of my work is to develop statistical tools to study the predictive power of these different theoretical approaches. In order to accomplish this task, we need to get an unbiased information on the statistical distribution of dark matter through gravitational lensing. Moreover, the gravitational collapse induces non linearities coupling different modes in the dark matter field. This feature makes high order correlation functions important to describe the non gaussian component of the present distribution of the matter field. After a short review on these topics, I will show you how I am getting acquainted with these tools and I will point out possible further developments of my present work.
