« Rolling tachyon in separated brane-antibrane system » |
F. Kiefer |
The non BPS system composed of separated D-brane and anti-D-brane in superstring theory admits a tachyon field when the distance is of string lenght order. Ultimately, an effective action for the distance and tachyon fields should describe the dynamics of this system and its fate along condensation of the tachyon. We studied a simple rolling tachyon solution, a basic time evolution of the process at fixed distance, from the point of view of boundary conformal field theory. We show that this theory is conformal, hence corresponds to an exact solution of the string theory equations of motion. In addition, we bring first stones to the construction of an effective action around the rolling tachyon background. |
