| After focusing the relevant conceptual aspects of quantum mechanics, consideration will be given to the puzzling macro-objectification (or measurement) problem and a review of the most relevant proposals to overcome it will be discussed. Among them special attention will be given to the so called Collapse Theories, which resort to stochastic and nonlinear dynamical modifications to the standard evolution equation. The achievements of this approach will be discussed and some subtle problems, in particular those connected with the possibility of generalizing it to a relativistic context will be appropriately analyzed. |
