« Phenomenology of dark matter via a bimetric extension of general relativity » |

The concordance cosmological model Lambda-CDM has tremendous successes at
cosmological scales. However when extrapolated down to galactic scales, it meets severe challenges when compared to observations, and seems to be fundamentally incompatible with the so-called phenomenology of MOND (MOdified Newtonian Dynamics). On the other hand, MOND, which is a basic set of observational phenomena relevant to galaxy dynamics and dark matter distribution at galactic scales, is antagonistic to anything we would like to call a fundamental theory. In this talk after a short review on the MOND phenomenology, I will present a new dark matter model which intends to reconcile within a single relativistic framework the antinomic phenomenologies of dark matter when it is seen either at cosmological scales or at galactic scales. This model is based on a bimetric extension of general relativity coupled to a specific form of dark matter made of two different species of particles, and thus can be seen as a compromise between modified gravity and particle dark matter. |
