« Weyl metrics in higher dimensional spacetimes » |
Christos Charmousis |
We will discuss the problem of finding and classifying axisymmetric and static constant vacuum solutions in arbitrary dimensions. In vacuum 4 dimensions such metrics are well known and called Weyl metrics. Usual examples range from the Rindler metric or the Schwarzschild black hole to accelerating black hole metrics or multiple black holes held together by struts. In higher than 4 dimensions the Einstein equations for Weyl metrics are no longer integrable. Solutions and a duality relation permitting mapping of different solutions to each other will be analysed. Relation to scalar field spacetimes in lower dimensions will be discussed. We will remark on the black hole on the brane mis(t)ery, stability issues concerning black brane solutions, and cosmic censorship in higher than 4 dimensions. |
