« Observing the three-dimensional large-scale power spectrum through polarization tomography » |
Raoul Abramo |
The CMB temperature anisotropies are basically a picture of a two-dimensional surface at the time of the last scattering surface (LSS) of the background photons. Although the small-scale perturbations throughout the universe are probably very well represented on the LSS, large-scale fluctuations (both the power spectrum and the correlations) are not. We will show how future observations of the polarization of the CMB photons which have been rescattered in galaxy clusters due to the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect can map the three-dimensional spectrum of perturbations on large scales. This data can be used to test models of just-so inflation, non-gaussian and isocurvature features, as well as cosmic topology. |
