« WIMP searches via neutrinos » |
J. Edsjö |
If Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) constitute the dark matter in the Universe, they could be trapped in the Sun and the Earth where they can annihilate and produce neutrinos. These neutrinos are searched for with neutrino telescopes, like the IceCube detector at the South Pole. I will here go through recent developments on the calculation of the expected neutrino signals and how the current experiments put constraints on WIMP models. Focus will be both on general WIMP models and on the more concrete minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (MSSM). |
