« A non inflationary cosmological paradigm »

Inflation is a paradigm that currently lacks challengers in solving the many problems (horizon, flatness, ...) encountered in standard cosmology. And it can even produce perturbations in agreement with data. A scale invariant spectrum is produced during a matter dominated contraction, so it is natural to ask whether such a phase could bounce to the currently expanding epoch, and what would the consequences be. I shall show that such a bouncing paradigm not only solves the usual problems, actually dynamically leading to a homogeneous model, but that it also predicts a spectrum of perturbations which exhibits differences with the inflation predictions (oscillations and tensor to scalar ratio). Forthcoming Planck data might single out one paradigm over the other!
