« Formulations and a numerical method for magnetized neutron stars » |
K. Uryu |
A neutron star with extremely strong magnetic fields is expected to be contained in systems such as soft-gamma ray repeaters or anomalous X-ray pulsars as a magnetar. It is also likely that the magnetic field is amplified in a proto neutron star produced after a massive stellar core collapse. The magnetic fields of binary neutron stars in the late inspiral stage may not be so strong to affect a dynamical structure of the system, but may be amplified in a remnant of binary neutron star merger. In this talk, we introduce formulations and a new numerical code - COCAL (Compact Object CALculater) - to compute the magnetized single rotating neutron star as well as binary neutron stars in quasi-equilibriums. We also discuss recent results of quasi-equilibrium neutron stars calculated using our new codes. |
