«  Multiphase gas in galaxy clusters: insights from exascale magnetohydrodynamical simulations »

Martin Fournier

Atomic and molecular gas is thought to be ubiquitous in the innermost regions of cool-core galaxy clusters, playing a crucial role in the thermal regulation of the intracluster medium (ICM). However, the formation mechanisms and dynamics of this cold phase remain incompletely understood. Using recent high-resolution MHD simulations, I will first explore how magnetic fields shape the properties and evolution of cold gas filaments. I will then examine the motion of this multiphase environment using velocity structure function analysis, and will quantify how observational biases can impact our measurements of the ICM turbulence.
