« 3D simulations of AGN jet feedback » |
Salvatore Cielo |
The effects of Active Galactic Nuclei in their host halos (AGN
Feedback) may play a key role in a galaxy formation context. In particular, relativistic nuclear jets -as observed ubiquitously in radio galaxies and galaxy clusters- provide both a reservoir of hot gas and large amounts of energy in the form of mechanical work. It is very important to accurately include these components in the energy balance of their host. I will briefly present the work developed during my late PhD on hydrodynamical simulations of AGN jets; I will mainly focus on the global energetics and -visually- on the most interesting aspects of the gas kinematics developed in these systems. |
