« Relativistic effects on the asymmetry of galaxy distribution for large-scale structures » |
Michel-Andres Breton |
At the largest cosmological scales we assume statistical isotropy and homogeneity for the matter density field. However our knowledge comes mostly from observing the universe via messengers like photons which can be disturbed during their propagation, resulting in a distortion in our perception of the universe. For redshift-space distortions in particular we usually only account for the peculiar velocity, however with the increasing quality of data we might measure more subtle effects. This was investigated theoretically and it was shown that the observed asymmetry of the galaxy distribution will give an interesting new probe for the dark sector. We will talk about these distortions due to relativistic effects using numerical simulations and discuss how they can provide cosmological information. |
