« AGN Feedback in Local Radio Galaxies » |
Philippe Salomé |
AGN-feedback in Galaxies is believed to be a key process for galaxy formation and evolution. However, there is still little understanding of how this feedback is achieved (if at play). In this talk, I will present some observing facts that support the existence of an interaction between the radio-AGN and its surroundings. Brightest Cluster Galaxies (BCGs) in the center of Cool Core Clusters are among the best examples of such an interplay between the gas and the Active Galaxy Nucleus. The local and nearby radio galaxy NGC 5128 (a.k.a. Centaurus A) is another well-known nearby laboratory to study AGN-feedback. I will focus on the molecular gas phase, as observed by mm and sub-mm facilities (IRAM / ALMA / APEX). The advent of MUSE on the VLT has also brought new isights on the optical emissions in cluster cores that are very complementary. The physical state of the gas reservoir in these local radio-galaxies may help explain how efficiently the circulating matter can or cannot eventually feed star formation. |
