Résumé / Abstract Seminaire_IAP
« Science and Robotic Exploration Programmes at ESA »

Alvaro Gimenez

The Science Programme is a mandatory component of the European Space Agency's programme. With its long-standing set of achievements the Science Programme has afforded the European scientific community a long series of "firsts" in all of the fields of space science. I will briefly review the programme's history and framework and present the current portfolio of missions as well as the future outlook. More recently an optional Robotic Exploration programme has been added to the Agency's portfolio, aiming at the robotic exploration of Mars (and possibly, in the future, other bodies). I will also briefly present the content and status of this programme.
