« A fool in a hurry drinks tea with a fork: Galaxy evolution with photometric redshift surveys » |

The next generation of photometric redshift surveys hold tremendous promise for cosmology. I will describe a number of methods for using these data sets to provide precise measures of the galaxy scaling relations which constrain galaxy formation models. As one example, I will show how the MgII absorbers in the spectra of SDSS quasars can be used to estimate the luminosity function of z=0.7 galaxies for which only photometry is available. |
