« The characterisation of exoplanets with optical interferometry » |
Sylvestre Lacour |
In the arsenal of techniques to observe exoplanets, optical interferometry is the latest entrant. In several aspects, it supersedes the direct observations by single dish telescope equipped with extreme AO. One of these aspects is astrometry: it is accurate enough to detect the departure of Keplerian orbit in multiplanetary system. During this talk, I will present the interferometric technique, its pros and cons. I will also present the latest results of the ExoGRAVITY project, nourished by an ongoing ESO large program. Last, I will talk about the perspectives of the technique both in short and longer terms. |
