« zCOSMOS: clues to the where, when and how of galaxy evolution »

zCOSMOS is a large spectroscopic redshift survey in the COSMOS field, which is aimed at characterizing galactic environments over a wide variety of scales from the 100 kpc scale of groups to the 100 Mpc scale of the cosmic web, doing so over a wide range of redshifts, at 0.1 < z < 1 and at 1.5 < z < 3. It therefore provides an ideal way to study the role of environment in controlling the evolution of galaxies and AGN. In this talk, I will review what has been learnt so far.
