« Observing the Solar X-ray Corona »

The corona of the Sun is a multithermal hot magnetized plasma, with fine structure down to present observing limits, and with activity and variability on all observable time scales. We will discuss in general terms the observational problem of studying coronal activity, and we present recent results from spaceborne instrumentation. These data are revealing an entirely new conception of the coronal structure and the causes of coronal activity.
