« Pluto and its exploration by the New Horizons mission » |
Francois Forget |
On July 14 2015, NASA's New Horizons spacecraft will perform the first flyby of Pluto and its 5 moons, after a 10 years journey across the solar system. It will discover and map a new kind of worlds about which we know very little. Nevertheless, Earth-based observations suggest that Pluto is active and complex, covered by constantly evolving ices and a dynamical atmosphere. Much more will be revealed this summer.
