The Institut d’astrophysique de Paris (IAP) has a library on its site. It provides research and academic-level collections and services in the science of the Universe, and physics and mathematics.

The library is also an associated library with the documentary pole of Sorbonne Université.

Access conditions

For internal users i.e. permanent staff and associate members of the IAP, doctoral and post-doctoral students and graduate students (Research Master - Speciality "Astronomy and Astrophysics"), the library is accessible only with an access code, which available upon request at the IAP reception.

The library is temporarily no longer accessible to external users.

Catalogue

The IAP’s library maintains a collection of over 7,500 books and subscribes to 11 journals in both print and electronic copy.

Loan conditions

• Students (bachelor/master SU): unlimited number of documents for 4 weeks; renewable 2 times.
• Permanent IAP staff, doctoral students, post-docs and post-docs: 6 documents for 1 year*.
• Trainees (during training period): 4 documents for 15 days.
• Long-term visitors (for stays > 2 months): 6 documents for 15 days.

*Callback possible if booked by another reader.
**No borrowing for short-term visitors (< 2 months) and external users.

It should also be noted that on-site consultation remains possible for visitors (not for outsiders, in principle).
