The Institut d’astrophysique de Paris (IAP) has a library on its site. It provides research and academic-level collections and services in the science of the Universe, and physics and mathematics.

The library is also an associated library with the documentary pole of Sorbonne Université.

Opening hours

• It is open on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm, on Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm and 4:30pm to 6:30pm, and on Fridays from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.
• Each student also works one extra day per month, adding the following hours: Mondays from 10am to 12pm (04/11 and 02/12) and from 5:30pm to 7:30pm (28/10, 18/11 and 16/12), Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm (24/10, 14/11 and 12/12) and Fridays from 10am to 12pm (25/10, 29/11 and 13/12).

Access conditions

For internal users i.e. permanent staff and associate members of the IAP, doctoral and post-doctoral students and graduate students (Research Master - Speciality "Astronomy and Astrophysics"), the library is accessible only with an access code, which available upon request at the IAP reception.

The library is temporarily no longer accessible to external users.

Catalogue

The IAP’s library maintains a collection of over 7,500 books and subscribes to 11 journals in both print and electronic copy.

Loan conditions

• Students: 2 documents maximum for a duration of 1 month
• PhD students, post-doctoral fellows: 3 documents maximum for a duration of 1 month
• IAP permanent staff: 3 documents maximum for a duration of 1 month
